![Extreme Rainfall Triggers Dangerous Flooding Across Central and East Florida](/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcms-assets-con.cdn.weatherbug.net%2Fassets%2Fcontentitems%2Fb0%2Fb06e2665-fb7c-4ce5-8814-73de72a3a2f9%2F52e0ce98-d40a-4283-82d1-d0fe816ebf4b%2Fa654fe6e-af31-4038-a5ed-58b5fac4e89b.png&w=3840&q=75)

Parts of Central and East Florida are dealing with dangerous flooding after extreme rainfall soaked the region, with some areas near Palm Bay and Melbourne receiving up to **2 feet of rain in just 24 hours**.

The intense rainfall has created hazardous conditions, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Additional rainfall is expected, which could worsen existing flooding and lead to new flooding, especially in areas already saturated.

### Flood Watches and Warnings in Effect

Flood Watches and Flash Flood Warnings have been issued across portions of Central and East Florida as heavy rainfall continues to threaten the region.

[**Check your current local weather alerts**](https://www.weatherbug.com/alerts/) for the latest warnings and safety information.

### Turn Around, Don't Drown

Drivers should never attempt to cross flooded roads. Water can be deeper than it appears, and just 12 inches of moving water can carry away a small car.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather alerts, avoid flooded areas, and use caution when traveling.
