Heavy rains caused flooding in eastern Kentucky on Sunday, February 28, that continued into Monday, leaving communities inundated with water.
Josh Paige filmed this footage Monday showing floodwaters submerging streets and parking lots in Paintsville, a city in Johnson County.
“Unbelievable how high the water is in this area,” Paige tweeted.
Paintsville was under a flash flood warning until 3 am on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Heavy downpours over the weekend prompted water rescues and a mudslide, officials said.
