Cars navigated flooded streets in Broomfield, Colorado, on Tuesday, August 16, as the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood warning in the region.
“Midway Park is not known to have a large lake / flowing river!” read a caption accompanying footage uploaded to Twitter by Joel Hansen. The Broomfield Police announced road closures as a result of the flooding.
According to a post on the Broomfield Government Twitter page, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported Broomfield received 3.5 inches of rain between 7 and 10 am on August 16.
