The American Meteor Society said it received more than 120 reports of a meteor sighting from Missouri and other states on Monday, November 11.
The fireball was seen at 8.51 pm, and was traveling east to west in the sky between St Louis and Columbia, Missouri.
This footage of the meteor streaking near architect Eero Saarinen’s landmark Gateway Arch was livestreamed by the St Louis EarthCam at the Malcolm W Martin Memorial Park.
According to KMOV, there were reports of a loud booming noise accompanying the meteor.
The sightings coincided with the Taurid meteor shower reaching its peak in the Northern Hemisphere.
