Video: Scorched Cars Line Lahaina's Front Street After Deadly Fire Destroys Town

Burned-out buildings and vehicles were seen in Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui in the aftermath of a wildfire that devastated the town, footage posted on August 11 showed.
The footage, captured by Frederick Hawkins on August 9, shows the remnants of Front Street, the town’s main thoroughfare.
Speaking to local news on August 10, Hawaii Gov Josh Green said Lahaina was “gone” and estimated over a thousand buildings had been destroyed.
The County of Maui said at least 55 people were confirmed to have died in the Lahaina fire by August 10, with the blaze 80 percent contained.
