The Northwest and the Florida will have an active weekend while the Northeast stays cold and the Plains warm up.
Saturday
Northern California, the Pacific Northwest and the northern Mountain West will have a mix of rain and snow to kick-off the weekend. The rain will be limited to the coastal valleys of California and the lower western slopes of the Cascades while a late-season snow falls over the northern Sierras and the southern and central Cascades. Snow will reach into the mountains of northern Idaho later Saturday. This will keep temperatures in the 40s and 50s Saturday.
A lingering front sitting across Florida will produce rain showers and a few thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.
Otherwise, a sun-filled Saturday will be found throughout the Southwest, southern and central Rockies, Great Plains, South, Southeast, Midwest, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast.
The warmest temperatures will be found across central Plains, the Southwest and southern California. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s, with parts of the Dakotas, southern California and southern Florida hitting the 70s and the Desert Southwest reaching the low 80s. Highs will be in the 60s across northern California, Texas, the South, northern Florida and the southern Mid-Atlantic. Much colder 50s will be found in the lower Mississippi Valley, Mid-South and Southeast while 40s chill the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The Northeast, Great Lakes and Midwest will shiver in the 20s and 30s.
Sunday
The Northwest remains the hotspot for weather Sunday. Another wave of rain and mountain snow will roll off the Pacific, bringing a soggy Sunday to Washington and Oregon. The Cascades will once again see accumulating snow at the highest peaks.
A few rain showers will be possible across Florida early in the day before sunshine returns. Speaking of sunshine, the rest of the U.S., including California, Southwest, Great Basin, Rockies, Great Plains, South, Midwest, Great Lakes and East Coast will barely have a cloud in the sky on Sunday.
Sunday’s highs will range from 70s and 80s across the Southwest, southern Rockies and Florida to 20s and 30s across the Northeast and northern Mid-Atlantic. Most other spots will be in the 40s, 50s and 60s, with chillier 40s found across the mountains of the Northwest and northern Rockies.
