-URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 631 AM AKST Thu Jan 15 2026 White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River- Including the cities of the Dalton Highway from MP 0 to MP 38, Livengood, Twelvemile Summit, Circle Hot Springs, the Elliott Highway from MP 32 to MP 134, Eagle Summit, and the Steese Highway from MP 85 to MP 124 631 AM AKST Thu Jan 15 2026 ...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 PM AKST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible, especially for Eagle Summit. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Steese and Elliott Highways. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 PM AKST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...North winds will begin to gust up to 30 mph along the Elliott Highway Thursday afternoon. Strongest winds and blizzard conditions will begin thereafter, especially towards Eagle Summit by Friday morning. Blizzard conditions will likely continue through Saturday evening.
