Total snow accumulations through Monday night of 6 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Michigan. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The worst of conditions will occur from around 600 am Monday morning through mid afternoon on Monday. The combination of heavy lake effect snow and strong winds with gusts of 30 to 40 mph will make travel treacherous. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution.
