-URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI 1049 AM EST Wed Jan 14 2026 Mason-Oceana-Muskegon- Including the cities of Ludington, Muskegon, and Hart 1049 AM EST Wed Jan 14 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow showers, locally heavy at times, and blowing and drifting snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches for eastern sections of the counties, to 6 to 8 inches along and west of U.S.31. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Mason, Muskegon, and Oceana Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Visibility and road conditions may change rapidly over short distances in lake effect snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow showers will be the heaviest from this afternoon through early evening before likely moving offshore. If they stay onshore tonight, locally heavier amounts will be possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.
