Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch within the Red River Valley, blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations up to two inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Eastern Walsh and Pembina Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 6 AM CST Saturday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Saturday night through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Today into tonight, widespread blowing snow will make for difficult travel conditions, with periodic whiteouts, especially in open country. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday afternoon and evening commute. There is a 40% chance for blizzard conditions within the eastern Red River Valley today into tonight. For Sunday, blowing snow causing blizzard conditions and hazardous wind chills are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
