URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 904 PM AKST Sat Jan 10 2026 Kuskokwim Valley West-Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island- Interior Kuskokwim Delta-Western Capes- Including the cities of Toksook Bay, Platinum, Bethel, Kalskag, Kasigluk, Goodnews Bay, Akiachak, Kwethluk, Kipnuk, Aniak, Mekoryuk, and Quinhagak 904 PM AKST Sat Jan 10 2026 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AKST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills 40 to 55 below. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta, Kuskokwim Valley West, and Western Capes. * WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST Thursday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 55 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Another prolonged period of very cold wind chills is forecast this week, with ambient temperatures gradually decreasing through mid-week along with persistent northerly winds. Wind chills below -40F are already ongoing for the community of Quinhagak and locations elsewhere across the Kuskokwim Delta and Western Capes will see wind chills reach and drop below -40F by Sunday afternoon.
