The pollen levels for Friday will be rising but will still remain in the low range. The cause for the rising pollen levels is higher temperatures and the lower dewpoint. This heavy increase in pollen concentration could very well cause problems for those who are allergic to airborne pollens.

While forest fires emit vast amounts of smoke and small particulate matter into the air, they do not affect the pollen count in the short term. Analysts viewing air samples to conduct the daily pollen count may see drastic increases in black debris on their microscope slides, but do not typically conduct any "count" of this debris to report to the public. Loss of pollen-producing trees, if great enough, may reduce tree pollen counts in coming seasons.
