Allergies & Pollen Count for Saint Paul, Oregon
Today's Condition
Discussion
Based on past pollen counts and expected weather conditions, pollen levels for Saturday will be rising but will still remain in the low range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this increase is due in part to higher temperatures and the lower dewpoint. This heavy increase in pollen concentration could very well cause problems for those who are allergic to airborne pollens.
Allergy Facts
Many decades ago, farmers in the Pacific Northwest planted ragweed in their apple orchards for ground cover. When the public health impact of this blunder was fully determined, the plant was then aggressively eradicated. This explains why ragweed is so uncommon in western Washington and Oregon today.
