Following on the heels of a hail storm that damaged roofs and vehicles across northern Texas on Monday, another system brought monster hail to the San Antonio metro area Tuesday night.

Hail stones up to 3.5 inches in diameter, accompanied by wind gusts as high as 60 mph, were reported throughout the northern side of the city.

To put this into better perspective, baseball-sized hail is 2.75 inches in diameter. Hail at 3.00 inches in diameter is equal to the size of tea cups. Grapefruit-sized hail is 4.00 inches in diameter.
