Snow, High Winds Continue Across the East as Low Departs

A low pressure system is on its way out but will still bring impacts to the eastern U.S. through the day today.
Over the last 24 hours 6 to 12 inches of snow has fallen over the Adirondacks and into central and northern New England. Higher amounts of 14 inches was measured in Rochester, Vt and Bartlett, N.H. Additional amounts of 3 to 8 inches will be possible in northern New England before winding down this evening. This is why Winter Weather Advisories & Winter Storm Warnings are still in effect from central northern New York to northern New Hampshire.
Windy conditions will still be an issue today from western North Carolina to central Maine. Wind Advisories & High Wind Warnings remain in place this morning and into the early evening hours. Sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph will be possible along with gusts near 50 to 60 mph.
Various creeks and streams in the eastern U.S. are at or near flood stage as well, therefore Flood Warnings are in effect with improvement anticipated this evening from the Gulf Coast to southern Maine.
