Flash flooding submerged roadways and cars in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, on July 26.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the Birmingham suburbs in Shelby and Jefferson Counties.

The Vestavia Voice reported that highway 31 was impassable because of high floodwaters.

This video shows cars submerged in water in the parking lot of the Vestavia Park Apartments.
