After the first game last week, the NFL is heading back to Germany this Sunday! The Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots will play at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt at 9:30 a.m. ET, or 3:30 p.m. local time.

This is the second and final NFL game that will be played this season in Frankfurt. Last Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins 21 to 14 in the same stadium. This is also the second season of playing regular seasonal NFL games in Germany. Last season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the Seattle Seahawks in Munich.

Deutsche Bank Park is a sports stadium that began hosting sporting events in 1925. It is the current home of the football (soccer) club Eintracht Frankfurt. Since its inaugural year of 1925, it has been upgraded several times and holds 51,500 fans for league football matches and 48,500 for American Football and international matches. The stadium was one of nine venues that hosted the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and was a host stadium for the 2005 FIFA Confederation and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

In preparation of hosting the pair of NFL games in November, a hybrid playing surface was installed last weekend. Many soccer stadiums in Europe use hybrid playing surfaces. No two hybrid playing surfaces are exactly alike as fields vary from 90 percent natural grass with synthetic fibers woven into higher amounts (Liverpool's surface at Anfield is 95 percent natural grass) while some prefer slightly lower percentages of natural grass. The NFL decided to use a synthetic surface due to safety concerns for their players and an NFL game tends to be very difficult on and damaging to natural grass soccer surfaces.

Luckily, for anyone in the stands this Sunday, Frankfurt will be in between weather systems. A low pressure system will dissolve over the North Sea during the day, allowing any moisture with it to dissipate. A new low pressure system will move over Ireland and the United Kingdom, with a warm front extending ahead of it over France. While this warm front slowly lifts north, any rain associated with it will hold off until late Sunday or early Monday in Frankfurt.

Dry weather is expected at Deutsche Bank Park for the matchup between the Colts and Patriots despite the cloud cover. It will be chilly though so people will need to bundle up in layers, coats and warm hats and gloves. Any early tailgaters will have to battle temperatures in the mid-30s. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid-40s for the game itself. Winds could also be breezy at times, making it feel even colder than it is.

Deutsche Bank Park does have a retractable roof. Given the chilly temperatures, it is possible that the roof will be closed for the game.
