By WeatherBug Meteorologist, Rob Miller

The parade of snow will continue across the northern U.S. into the Midwest through the end of the week.
A developing area of low pressure will race into the central Plains by later this evening. This low will reach the Ohio and Tennessee valleys by Friday morning and will race off the eastern U.S. by early Saturday morning. Following this system, a weaker disturbance will move out of the northern Rockies on Friday and into the Plains and Midwest on Saturday.
Both features will bring a swath of snow with it, with a few inches of accumulation likely from each system. There may even be a narrow band of some light freezing rain and drizzle on the southern edge of the precipitation that can cause some icy conditions.
The first system will produce a general 1 to 4 inches of snow from northeastern Montana southeastward into the central Appalachians today through Friday. The second feature will bring snow across the northern High Plains on Friday and some light snow across the Ohio Valley on Saturday. Another general 1 to 4 inches of snow can be expected across the Plains and Ohio Valley with this feature. Snow amounts in Montana and the mountains of northern Wyoming will likely exceed 6 inches and may even get close to a foot on the ridgetops.
Winter Weather Advisories have been issued from central and eastern Montana and the Dakotas southeastward into southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and western Virginia. There are even some Winter Storm Warnings in effect across eastern Montana. Cities such as Bismarck, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., Iowa City, Iowa, Springfield, Ill., Indianapolis, Louisville, Ky., Cincinnati, and Beckley, W.V. are included in the advisories.
But the northern U.S. and Midwest won't be the only places to experience snow through the end of the week. Lake Effect Snow Warning, Winter Storm Warnings, and Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across portions of far northeastern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania into the Laurel Highlands, western and northern New York and northern Vermont.
The Mid-Atlantic may even get a couple of inches of snow later Saturday night into Sunday as the second feature continues to move eastward. Cities like Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York may see a small accumulation of snow on Sunday morning.
It’s never too early to have a supply kit packed in case of inclement weather. A simple kit including a weather radio, water, blankets, batteries, and non-perishable food items will go a long way in the event of a power outage. It’s always best to avoid travel in rough weather as the roads will be dangerous.
