A thin blanket of snow fell in Santiago and the surrounding metropolitan area over the weekend of July 15 due to a rare winter cold snap. The city has now seen snow since 2011, Accuweather reported.

This footage shows the snowfall in Maipu, a commune located in Santiago Province, about 11 miles from the city center.
