URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Great Falls MT 230 AM MST Wed Dec 17 2025 East Glacier Park Region-Northern High Plains-Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera-Southern Rocky Mountain Front- Southern High Plains- Including the following locations: Pendroy, Ethridge, Bynum, Babb, Heart Butte, Santa Rita, Choteau, Kiowa, East Glacier Park, Browning, Logan Pass, Cut Bank, Dupuyer, Marias Pass, Rogers Pass, and Saint Mary 230 AM MST Wed Dec 17 2025 ...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MST TONIGHT... * WHAT...West winds 35 to 55 mph with gusts up to 90 mph expected and gusts over 100 mph possible, especially close to the Rocky Mountain Front. * WHERE...The Rocky Mountain Front and adjacent foothills and plains, and Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties. * WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible! Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are expected and could be of long duration. Blowing dust could significantly reduce visibility at times. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is a dangerous situation! This windstorm will be reminiscent of the January 2021 windstorm. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind, and to ensure that they have sturdy shelter for this wind storm. If at all possible, consider delaying travel during the period of highest winds or finding an alternate route.
