Total snow accumulations 2 to 10 inches. Lowest amounts from Glennallen west. Highest amounts south and east of Glennallen. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph on Saturday. * WHERE...Central Copper Valley, Ernestine, Eureka / Tahneta Pass, McCarthy, Southern Copper Valley, and Western Copper Valley. * WHEN...Until 5 PM AKST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow could reduce visibility to as low as one half mile at times. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A second round of snow is expected to develop by late Friday evening and continue through Saturday afternoon. Northerly winds will also increase Friday night through Saturday as colder air moves into the basin. The snow will become light and powdery by Saturday, with the combination of snow and wind likely leading to areas of blowing snow that could significantly reduce visibility.
