
Sizzling Heat Continues to Bake the Western U.S.
Blistering heat will persist west of the Rockies and into the southern Plains today.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS Wildfire smoke continues west of the Cascades over northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, which may limit high temperatures by approximately 1-3 degrees. # HEADLINE -------------------- AIR QUALITY ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE # SUMMARY -------------------- The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency have issued an Air Quality Advisory, which is in effect until further notice. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels due to smoke at times until further notice. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition.
