Total snow accumulations under one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze possible. West to northwest winds 20 to 30 mph, gusting 40 to 50 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph are possible across portions of eastern Iowa. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois and east central and northeast Iowa. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roadways may become slick and hazardous. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, including holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A period of freezing rain is possible this evening into early tonight mainly north of Highway 30 before the precipitation changes to all rain as temperatures warm above freezing. Very strong west to northwest winds are expected behind a cold front late tonight into Wednesday morning, which may be accompanied by snow showers or periods of light snow resulting in reduced visibilities.
