-Flood Advisory National Weather Service Honolulu HI 1248 AM HST Thu Dec 18 2025 Honolulu HI- 1248 AM HST Thu Dec 18 2025 ...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM HST EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN...Until 415 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1240 AM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicated a band of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms training from southwest to northeast mainly over the northern half of Oahu. This band is expected to slowly drift southeast this morning over the rest of the Oahu with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... the entire island of Oahu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. A Flood Watch is also in effect for Kauai and Oahu until 6 PM HST this evening. && This advisory may need to be extended beyond 415 AM HST if flooding persists.

Niihau-Kauai Southwest-Kauai Mountains-Waianae Coast-Oahu North Shore-Olomana-Central Oahu-Waianae Mountains-Kauai North-Kauai East-Kauai South-East Honolulu-Honolulu Metro-Ewa Plain-Koolau Windward-Koolau Leeward- 345 PM HST Wed Dec 17 2025 * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Kauai, Oahu, and Niihau. * WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A weakening cold front stalling out near Kauai and Oahu will continue to produce southerly winds, drawing up additional unstable and deep tropical moisture across the western half of the state. Expect periods of moderate to locally heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms through Thursday with potential flooding impacts over the islands of Niihau, Kauai, and Oahu.
