-URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Great Falls MT 230 AM MST Wed Dec 17 2025 Eastern Toole and Liberty-Hill County-Northern Blaine County- Eastern Pondera and Eastern Teton-Western and Central Chouteau County-Bears Paw Mountains and Southern Blaine-Cascade County below 5000ft-Judith Basin County and Judith Gap-Fergus County below 4500ft-Snowy and Judith Mountains- Including the following locations: Harlem, Fort Belknap, Conrad, Shelby, Chester, Moccasin, Lewistown, Fort Benton, Chinook, Benchland, Whitlash, Zurich, Windham, Raynesford, Ledger, Hobson, Hilger, Devon, Havre, Stanford, Great Falls, Brady, Lothair, Hogeland, Joplin, Floweree, Geyser, Galata, Rocky Boy, and Carter 230 AM MST Wed Dec 17 2025 ...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MST TONIGHT... * WHAT...West winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected. Isolated wind gusts in excess of 85 mph are possible. * WHERE...The Plains and Island Ranges of North Central Montana. * WHEN...Until midnight MST tonight. * IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult to impossible, especially for high profile vehicles. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are expected and may be of long duration. Blowing dust could significantly reduce visibility at times. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is a dangerous situation! This windstorm will be reminiscent of the January 2021 windstorm. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. If at all possible, consider delaying travel during the period of highest winds or finding an alternate route. Remember, a High Wind Warning means that there is at least an 80% chance of 40 mph sustained winds or 58 mph wind gusts occurring during the warning period. &&
