Eastern Monona County in west central Iowa... Northwestern Pottawattamie County in southwestern Iowa... Western Harrison County in southwestern Iowa... Southeastern Burt County in east central Nebraska... Washington County in east central Nebraska... * Until 1115 AM CST. * At 1038 AM CST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from near Mapleton to 3 miles east of Arlington, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Whiteout conditions with near zero visibility associated with intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to blowing snow. Wind gusts greater than 50 mph could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. SOURCE...Radar and trained spotter. IMPACT...Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area. This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 74 and 99. Locations impacted include... HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow which can rapidly reduce visibility to one-half to three-quarters of mile. Localized areas of one- quarter mile visibility are possible in proximity to open fields will create snow squall or white out conditions. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 1022 AM CST, a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from 2 miles north of Smithland to 2 miles south of Herman to 3 miles east of Woodcliff to 3 miles west of Dwight and moving east at 20 MPH. THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL BE NEAR... Blair, Wahoo, Valley, Kennard, Weston, Little Sioux, Castana, Leshara, Colon, and Woodcliff around 1030 AM CST. Mapleton, Valparaiso, Mondamin, and Pisgah around 1035 AM CST. Mead and Modale around 1040 AM CST. Bennington, Yutan, and Moorhead around 1045 AM CST. Waterloo, Soldier, and Ithaca around 1050 AM CST. Elkhorn, Fort Calhoun, Ute, Magnolia, and Flanagan Lake around 1055 AM CST. Northwestern Omaha and Missouri Valley around 1100 AM CST.
