Recent fluffy snowfall from Saturday in combination with very cold temperatures and 20 to 30 mph southwesterly winds may result in some blowing and drifting snow Monday. Any blowing snow may lead to sharply reduced visibility and snow covered roads which could make travel hazardous, particularly on east-west oriented roads in rural areas. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions Monday morning across eastern Iowa, western Illinois and far northeast Missouri. If you encounter blowing and/or drifting snow be sure to slow down and use low beams. In addition, bring an emergency kit that includes extra clothing, and notify someone where you are going and when you plan to arrive in case you get stuck.
