-Flood Advisory National Weather Service Juneau AK 1047 PM AKST Sat Jan 10 2026 .An additional surge of moisture is expected for the Juneau area tonight, bringing light to moderate rain and additional snowmelt. The deep snowpack is mostly absorbing most of the rain and producing little runoff; however side streets still have snow and ice for melting and runoff. Reports of little to no flooding on major roads in the Juneau area, such as Egan Drive; however, ponding of water continues on side streets, private homes, and other low lying areas. City and Borough of Juneau AK- 1047 PM AKST Sat Jan 10 2026 ...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM AKST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues. * WHERE...Downtown Juneau, Douglas, Mendenhall Valley, Lemon Creek. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM AKST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Storm drains and ditches are clogged with snow, ice, and other debris on side streets. Ponding of water in areas is occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1047 PM AKST, Reports in Juneau indicate that street flooding and ponding of roadways is mostly limited to side streets. Between 0.25 and 1.0 inches of rain has fallen in the last 12 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch are possible through late Sunday morning. The following message is transmitted at the request of the City and Borough of Juneau Manager's Office. This is an avalanche evacuation advisory. The potential for avalanches in known slide paths continues. With freezing levels up to 3,000 feet and heavy rain expected overnight, large avalanches are possible tonight (Saturday) and into tomorrow. An emergency shelter is available at Centennial Hall. Emergency response crews are staged to respond in the event of an avalanche. Please limit travel in avalanche exposed areas. Thane road remains closed at the avalanche gates.
