URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Tiyan GU 249 AM ChST Mon Dec 8 2025 Pohnpei- 249 AM ChST Mon Dec 8 2025 ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CHST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...North facing reefs of Pohnpei. * WHEN...Until 3 PM ChST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of the elevated northeast swell and secondary long-period north swell are still supporting surf of 9 feet or higher along north facing reefs, but surf along east facing reefs has likely fallen below 12 feet. The northeast swell and north swell are expected to slowly subside this afternoon, and is currently expected to allow surf to drop below 9 feet along north facing reefs this afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. &&
