Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN 546 PM CST Mon Dec 8 2025 Stearns-Sherburne-Wright-Hennepin-Anoka-Ramsey-Washington-Carver- Scott-Dakota- Including the cities of St Cloud, Elk River, Monticello, Minneapolis, Blaine, St Paul, Stillwater, Chanhassen, Chaska, Victoria, Shakopee, and Hastings 546 PM CST Mon Dec 8 2025 A band of moderate to heavy snow extends from roughly St. Cloud south through the far western Twin Cities metro. This snow will move east over I-94 and through the Twin Cities over the next couple of hours. Visibilities will fall down to a mile or less less with a quick half inch to an inch of accumulation expected. Motorists are urged to reduce speed and increase distance between vehicles during the evening commute.

Snow is expected to start in central Minnesota early Tuesday afternoon and spread southeast into western Wisconsin by Tuesday evening. Currently, the most likely place for heaviest snow is along and north of Interstate 94 where a narrow band of 4 to 7 inches of snow is possible. Winds will also become strong with gusts of 30 to 40 mph possible. Snow will end from west to east during the morning hours of Wednesday.
