Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches, locally in excess of 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35mph will lead to instances of blowing and drifting snow in prone areas. * WHERE...Antrim and Kalkaska Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Initial lighter lake effect snow showers will give way to heavier bursts of snow after 9pm this evening. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. Hazardous travel is expected later this evening, carrying through the Thursday morning commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly.
