Total snow accumulations today between 2 and 4 inches with higher amounts 4 to 8 inches north of I-90, the New York State Thruway. For the lake effect snow Thursday through Friday, additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected. * WHERE...Southern Herkimer County. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates between 0.5 to 1 per hour likely through this early afternoon, specifically for locations north of I-90, the New York State Thruway. Along I-90 in Herkimer county, a mix of rain/snow will develop before transitioning over to all rain this afternoon into this evening.
