Winter Storm Warning
-URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN 133 PM CST Tue Dec 9 2025 ...POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY, ACCUMULATING SNOW AND VERY GUSTY WINDS THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY TOMORROW MORNING... .A strong clipper system is bringing a variety of winter impacts to much of Minnesota and Wisconsin through early tomorrow morning. Heavy snowfall with rates exceeding 1 inch per hour will be possible generally along and north of I-94. Snowfall totals here will range from 4 to 7 inches by tomorrow morning. Snowfall amounts taper off along and south of I-94, where 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected along with wind gusts of 35 to 40 MPH. Here, freezing rain and/or a rain-snow mix will cut down on snowfall totals and likely lead to a sharp gradient in amounts, but little to no ice accumulation is expected. Finally, across southwestern and southern Minnesota, a wintry mix may produce around an inch of snow, but very gusty winds approaching 55 MPH at times overnight could lead to ground blizzard conditions. Snow will end from west to east with winds subsiding by mid morning.
