Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! -# SUMMARY -------------------- This product covers Southeast Texas \*\*Tropical Storm Arthur Continues Up the Texas Coast, but No Additional Impacts Expected for Southeast Texas\*\* NEW INFORMATION --------------- - CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - All watches and warnings have been canceled - CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - None - STORM INFORMATION: - About 10 miles northwest of Galveston TX - 29.4N 94.9W - Storm Intensity 40 mph - Movement Northeast or 35 degrees at 8 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Tropical Storm Arthur has continued to move up the Texas coastline and is centered near Galveston. It is expected to slowly move northwards over the next few hours before dissipating overnight. The majority of the associated gusty winds and rainfall remain well east of the center into Lousiana. Little to no additional impacts are expected for Southeast Texas, so the Tropical Storm Warnings that were in effect have been cancelled. POTENTIAL IMPACTS ----------------- - WIND: Little to no additional impacts are anticipated at this time across Southeast Texas. - SURGE: Little to no impact is anticipated at this time across Southeast Texas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS ---------------------------------- - EVACUATIONS: Follow the advice of local officials. - OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION: If using a generator, avoid carbon monoxide poisoning by following instructions provided by the manufacturer.
