Discussion

Based on past pollen counts and expected weather conditions, pollen levels for Tuesday will be falling in the moderate range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to rising humidity, weakening winds and expected precipitation in the morning and evening which tends to wash pollen out of the air. This reduction in pollen levels should be a relief to allergy sufferers.

Allergy Facts

Sedges are typically classified with the grass family when reported in pollen counts. Although 4,000 species of these grass-like plants exist around the world, they generally grow in marshy areas away from human population centers. Few people, therefore, suffer from allergies to sedge pollen.
