Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to falling temperatures, rising humidity and heavy rains in the morning, afternoon and evening which tend to wash pollen out of the air.

To reduce irritation during the pollen season, do not wear contact lenses. Pollen grains can become trapped underneath lenses. Eyeglasses may be a better choice.
