Concentration of pollen grains in the air for Monday will be increasing over today's levels but will remain in the extremely low range. This increase is due to strong winds and decreasing humidity.

Allergy Facts

The medical community has traditionally thought that asthma attacks are typically not caused directly by exposure to pollen alone, since particles needs to be small enough to actually enter the lungs in order to bring on symptoms, and pollen tends to be just over the threshhold in size to meet this requirement. Pollen is usually viewed as an aggravation to asthmatics. A recent study proved that grass pollen commonly becomes fragmented under certain weather conditions, breaking down into small enough sizes to be inhaled deep into the lungs, becoming a direct cause of asthmatic attacks.
