Concentration of pollen grains in the air for Thursday will be falling in the moderate range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to rising humidity, weak winds and expected precipitation in the afternoon and evening which tends to wash pollen out of the air.

Although most elm trees pollinate in the spring, some species flower (shed pollen) in the fall. Chinese elm, which is common in the south and California, pollinates in the late summer through October.
