Discussion

Concentration of pollen grains in the air for Thursday will be falling in the low range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to falling temperatures, rising humidity, and heavy rains in the evening which tend to wash pollen out of the air. That's good news for allergy sufferers.

Allergy Facts

In people with normal immune systems, no reaction occurs when pollen lands on the mucous membrane of the eyes, nose, throat or lungs. But in those people with a malfunctioning immune system, the protein in the pollen sets off an allergic response that causes the symptoms of hayfever.
