Discussion

Pollen concentrations for Thursday will be falling but will remain in the very high range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to falling temperatures and expected precipitation in the morning and afternoon which tends to wash pollen out of the air.

Allergy Facts

Warmer temperatures of the spring may inspire many of us to go on shopping sprees after a dormant winter. However, spring pollen may also find its way into the stores. A recent Swedish study considered how much birch and grass pollen was inside street-level shops, and how well it could be removed through the use of air purifiers. They found that substantial amounts of pollen existed indoors, but that air purification could reduce the pollen exposure by approximately 27%.
