Allergies & Pollen Count for Lowder, Illinois
Discussion
The pollen levels for Friday will be falling into the extremely low range. Since the weather has a major influence on pollen dispersal, this decrease is due in part to falling temperatures, rising humidity, and heavy rains in the morning which tend to wash pollen out of the air.
Allergy Facts
While forest fires emit vast amounts of smoke and small particulate matter into the air, they do not affect the pollen count in the short term. Analysts viewing air samples to conduct the daily pollen count may see drastic increases in black debris on their microscope slides, but do not typically conduct any "count" of this debris to report to the public. Loss of pollen-producing trees, if great enough, may reduce tree pollen counts in coming seasons.
