Multiple bands of moderate to heavy snow will move up, associated with multiple waves aloft. Strongest snow rates are looking increasingly likely near the Icy Strait corridor this evening, associated with the second wave of precipitation from the south, along with a potential additional band of snow on Monday. Highest uncertainty with snow amounts is near Petersburg and Kake, where warm temperature aloft may limit snow ratios, therefore limiting snow amounts. Additional snow accumulations of 8 to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph in downtown Juneau, Douglas, and Thane. * WHERE...Eastern Chichagof Island and City and Borough of Juneau. * WHEN...Until 6 PM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult and is discouraged unless it is an emergency. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Blowing snow will reduce visibilities. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall will briefly diminish before another band arrives Sunday night, followed by another potential band on Monday.
