At the same time, moisture will overrun a frontal boundary across the central Appalachians down into the Carolinas. As milder air will settle above the sub-freezing surface layer, a wintry mix consisting of freezing rain and sleet is likely over portions of the area. Travel impacts are likely where the wintry mix falls.
