Discussion

Based on past pollen counts and expected weather conditions, pollen levels for Thursday will be falling in the low range. This decrease is due to rising humidity, weakening winds and expected precipitation in the morning, afternoon and evening which tends to wash pollen out of the air. This reduction in pollen levels should be a relief to allergy sufferers.

Allergy Facts

Warmer temperatures of the spring may inspire many of us to go on shopping sprees after a dormant winter. However, spring pollen may also find its way into the stores. A recent Swedish study considered how much birch and grass pollen was inside street-level shops, and how well it could be removed through the use of air purifiers. They found that substantial amounts of pollen existed indoors, but that air purification could reduce the pollen exposure by approximately 27%.
