Recent fluffy snowfall from Saturday in combination with bitterly cold temperatures and 20-30 mph southwesterly winds will result in a period of blowing and drifting snow Monday morning. Blowing snow will lead to sharply reduced visibilities and snow covered roads which will make travel hazardous, particularly on east-west oriented roads. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions Monday morning across north-central Illinois and west-central Indiana. If you encounter blowing and/or drifting snow be sure to slow down and use low beams.
