WHERE Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex and Passaic and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Queens and Westchester. WHEN Until 145 AM EDT. IMPACTS Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. ADDITIONAL DETAILS - At 1146 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of around 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. WHERE Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island) and Southern Queens. WHEN Until 6 AM EDT Tuesday. IMPACTS Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS - Scattered heavy downpours and thunderstorms will produce rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour into the overnight.
